The elkhorn city area heritage council will be hosting a civil war reenactment May 25th-27 in elkhorn city,ky.This will be a battle that will take place on a large island on the russell fork river.Camping will be by the river.Amenities will include water,straw,firewood,1-lb of powder to the first 100 pre-paid pre-registered reenactors.Haversack stuffers will be salted in the shell peanuts and ginger snaps.One meal each day provided.We will have a civil war symposium on saturday with three local authors and their books,three speakers to include jim pritchard,jeff weaver and robert baker.A ladies tea and grand military ball.Re-enactors to include Lincoln,Lee,Longstreet,Grant and Garfield.A blacksmith will be present.We have four cannons register so far.aour website is www.elkhorncity.org There you will find a flyer to download and registration forms.
