Yes, he was originally a 1st Lt. in Company H, 4th Kentucky Mounted Infantry. He was appointed regimental adjutant on April 11, 1862. He was promoted to Captain on May 5, 1862 and assigned to Hawes' Brigade staff as A.A.A.G. The last reference to him in the official records is as Assistant Adjutant General of Breckinridge's Division staff from September 7-9, 1862. He has another service record filed in the series of General and Staff Officers, CSA. Company H, 4th Kentucky Mounted Infantry appears to have been raised in the vicinity of Bourbon County. However, J.L. Robertson has not been located in the census records. I have not been able to find any information about him before of after the war.
