Re: CO. D 4th Ky. Cavalry Confederate

My great great grandfather and his dad each served in Company D, 4th Kentucky Cavalry, Confederate.

Abner D. L Key and John W. Key.

They enlisted in Hart County Kentucky.

Abner was taken prisoner Jan. 15, 1863 in Shelbyville, TN and was released in a prisoner exchange May 13, 1863. He was exchanged in City Point, Virginia.

Abner then surrendered and subscribed to the oath of allegiance on May 21, 1865 in Washington, GA.
