For those of you who may be interested and want to see a little more, I have taken the liberty of posting the link to the website regarding this event. I eagerly look forward to it, such events like this are much needed in this area of Eastern Kentucky, as there were plenty of men from this area who saw their share of action. How many people are aware that James A. Garfield was promoted to Brigidare General and sworn in to this position where the Pikeville City Park is now located? Many important events from this area that impacted the Civil War, and I for one, can't wait to visit this Bushwhacking on the Russell event!
