What I have is a transcript from another genealogist.

Service record of Pvt. William Rakes CO C 5th Kentucky Mounted Infantry. He was captured on 4 May 1863 in McGoffin County, KY. then says he arrived at Sandusky, Ohio. POW camp (is this Camp Chase) Johnson Island was for Officers. so it says arrived Sandusky, Ohio Nov 4th 1863. That is a long time between the two states. Next strange thing it is printed on Point Lookout Maryland index card. So William must have arrived there near winter of 1863.

Maybe it would benefit me if I got an actual copy of the service record?
