In "Bluegrass Confederate, the Headquarters Diary of Edward O. Guerrant," Edited by William C. Davis & Meredith L. Swentor, LSU Press, 1999, there are 7 fleeting page references. On page 302, July 5, 1863, he notes:

"Went by the camp of the 5th. Ky. Inf. on Wallen's Creek just below Stickleyville. A splendid regiment & capital officers."
