Pike Co Ky CSA unknown-Clues?

Legendary in 1865 an unknown CSA soldier was killed in Pike County Ky. There are several clues to his possible ID:
1) He had a watch-showing he was not poor?
2) He had a pair of Boots-showing he had not been in service very long-or they would have worn out?
3) He had no horse {Infantryman} and he was unfamiliar with the area as he asked directions-yet he was condifent enough
to reach his home that he could walk there. Indicating his home was nearby?
4)Did any CS units surrender/disband at Elkhorn City KY in 1865?
