Capt. Sid Cook, Co. G, 7th Confederate Cavalry Bat

In an history on several different internet sites about the 7th Confederate Cavalry Battalion, Company G, and Sid Cook there is the following:

• Cook raided Paintsville and robbed the Border store. He left Paintsville, rode through Flat Gap, where the loot was divided among Cook's men. They continued on over onto Blaine and up Blaine to the head of Elkfork of Licking in Morgan Co., KY.

I am particularly interested in this raid due Case 1500 filed in the Johnson County Court and apparently settled in 1868-1869. My GGGF, Henry Sparks is a named defendant, along with the Jayne brothers, Lyon brothers,(the preceeding two groups were cousins to Henry), John Ficklin, the unfortunate John May Hamilton, John T. Williams and others. They were accused between 1862 and 1864 of stealing everything from bacon and oats for Humphrey Marshall's 5th to horses and knifeguns from William Davis' Dry Goods Store in Paintsville. It appears that this raid may have taken place in July, 1864. Does anyone have any information on it besides the information and sources listed above? Dates? Individuals involved? New sources? Was the Border Store and William Davis' Dry Goods, one and the same? I would love to know with whom "the loot" was divided? Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Mike
