Confederate Dead in Bardstown

It is well known that Bragg, in his race with Buell towards the Ohio River, turned east and headed for Muldraugh Hill, rested in the vicinity of New Haven, and continued to Bardstown before moving on to Perryville. Buell, of course, continued on to the north. I have looked until I’m blue in the face for any indication of combat during the time Bragg was in the Muldraugh-Bardstown vicinity (19 Sep to about Oct 4, 1862). Besides family lore (sometimes in error) referring to “fighting in the Mulder Hills,” there is a posting on TNGenWeb “Confederate Dead in Bardstown, KY” naming 50 soldiers (plus 17 Unknowns) with “death dates” (or burial dates?) between 24 Sep & Nov 12, 1862 (plus one marked only 1863). The author of the posting states that he looked in the library and found that Bragg’s army “fought several battles in the area of Bardstown in 1862 against General Buell’s forces.” How’s come I can’t find any references to these engagements? Can anyone help me out? I think maybe these may be deaths from illness (which is documented in various commentaries) or from the engagements farther south – Munfordville, etc. – or maybe even Richmond.
