I'm reasonably sure my GGGrandfather John Morrison is buried as an unknown soldier at Camp Nelson, in KY. He died on August 30, 1862 in the battle near Richmond, KY. He was a member of the 18th Kentucky.

We recently visited Camp Nelson, but could find no indication of the units for the unknown or even for most known soldiers. Some graves had names, states, and/or death dates, but I could not find any that correlated to John.

Is there a record anywhere that shows at least the section numbers for those who died at Richmond?
