We have at the museum in Pikeville the bloody pillow case on which said soldier rested and died. There is much conjecture and talk of who the guy was or from which army he came and it could have been either. I had a friend descended from one of the familes who buried the guy who said he knew who killed him but could not tell me. Amazing, huh. 140 years later and they won't talk about it!! I asked him if I told him hte name of the killer would he then tell me and he said he would. I said was it Spencer Adkins, former a sergeant with the 10th Kentucky Confederate Cav (Officially designated the 14th) Company C I think. My friend said yeah that was him. There is much more info out there.
