Battle of Richmond Ky

My GG grandfather, Seth H. Kirkland of Co. A 6th FL INF was wounded at Big Hill, KY on Oct 15, 1862. When the troops moved out on Oct 16, he and other wounded were left behind and his brother, Wm. John Kirkland was left to act as nurse to the wounded. Wm. John was captured by the Union on Oct. 29, 1862 and sent to a prison at Fort McHenry, MD and then to Fortress Monroe, VA for exchange on Feb 15, 1863. He was returned to Strawberry Plains, TN where he died from pneumonia in "Hospital" on March 22, 1863.

Seth H. Kirkland died on Dec 8, 1862 at Richmond, KY. No further info is contained in his Military Records. Seth was promoted to Corporal on Aug 1, 1862.

Any information that would indicate an area where he might have been buried would be greatly appreciated.
