What I can tell you comes from memory. In a correspondence with Jim Prichard a couple of years back, Daniel Blevins name came up. Jim thought at some point Blevins had been recruiting for Fields' Partisan Rangers. It could be that your GGGF was working with him. Andrew Osborn's name shows up, I believe, in one of the depositions in Case 1500 of the Johnson County Circuit Court. This case involved the liberation of money, guns, horses, and dry goods from William Davis' Store in Paintsville, KY during the war. Your GGGF was identified by a witness as having been present during one of the raids. It mentions nothing about anyone getting killed during that action. I don't have it in front of me, but if you send me your e-mail address, I will look for the deposition and send you a transcription of it. Good luck with your search.
