Info found in Johnson County Public Library shows Andrew enlisted in Prestonsburg signed up by Col. James S. Williams. He signed up for 12 months but subsequent muster roll calls show he deserted Jan 16, 1862 Camp Martin, Ky and that he had been signed up by his brother in law Captain daniel Blevins.A general index card at the libary showed Andrew was a Pvt. in Ky 5th Mounted Infantry. Another general index card showed he was in Blevins Co., Williams Regiment. It was dated Jan 12 and says he was a prisoner on that date. Another card says he deserted Jan 16, 1862. Another muster roll card says he joined again from desertion on Sept 12, 1862 and deserted Oct 21, 1862. I later found his name on roster of Sid Cook's Rangers and I did not take a note on it but thought I had found him at one time on Field's Rangers roster. He was with Cook's bunch when he disappears. A book on Osborn family says it "was believed he died , along with James Patterson while either stealing for the cause or for recruiuiting for the cause". Th book says it was just stories and not confirmed.. That is all I can find out about Andrew Osborn. I can't find his grave, either. Thanks for any help.
