Francis Morgan Dorroh enlisted in Company F, 3rd Kentucky Infantry on July 16, 1861 at Camp Boone near Clarksville, TN. Company F was converted to artillery service first as Lyon's Battery in October, 1861 at Bowling Green, Ky, then after HB Lyon was promoted to Colonel they became Cobb's Battery. Francis M Dorroh was killed April 6, 1861 at the battle of Shiloh. I assume he is buried in one of the trenches on the battlefield.
I believe that James Thomas Dorroh who enlisted a the same time int he same company and was a Corporal in Cobb's Battery was Francis Dorroh's brother. He died 1-16-1917 and is buried in New Bethel Church Cemetery in Lyon County, Kentucky.
