Morgan crossed over from Tennessee and came through Monticello a few times, as did Col.John S.Scott's Confederate Cavalry command. The 1st Kentucky Cav, of which, my great-great grandfather, Sgt.Elisha Harrison was a part, was most likely ordered to patrol the area to uncover any movement into the state around there by CS Cav units.
