Pleasant Valley in Boone County - FYI

I have been doing research for several months and learned that on the Southfork Creek in Boone County - just outside Union, KY, that Union forces bombed a grist mill.

Have no idea if any casualties, but there was alot of action in this area. This is just north of Walton and that is where fighting took place. John Hunt Morgan and his raiders came through I learned. In a few of the new homes built along the Southfork Creek, about 2 confederate ghosts have been seen at night on a few occasions.

Does anyone have any relatives who fought in this particular skirmish? Or know of someone who may have that could provide more details?

Interest in this new information released by the local library provided some of the neighbors something to talk about. Hopefully, more discussion can be added.
