Yeah thats were I got my info from too for the most part. One very important thing to understand about Byrne's battery is the history is very sketchy and Obscure and that there were Three Organizations of the battery but the all are rostered as One battery from most sources such as the National Parks Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. But in relatity there were three One, the Orginal One that was raised by Byrne in Kentucky and Missippi, Two, one raised from former members of the disbanded unit and some new recruits and filled out with Transfers from Morgan's Cavalry, and Three, those who werent captured on the Ohio Raid under Morgan who according to some sources joined Cobb's Battery. Only the 1st one served with the Orphan Brigade and only served with them for a short time froom about December of 1861 to Just after Shiloh then they were transfered to the Cavalry under Wharton who the served with at Stones River. The 2nd Group served as the whole of Morgan's Artillery for his Great Raid and part of it for early ones and then the 3rd one supposedly joined Cobb post his transfer to Mobile. Only the 1st group was constantly commanded by Byrne who lost his commision to a Court Martial after particapating in a Bank RObbery in Kentucky during the Great Raid. I'd say your best bet though would be the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System Website which is fully searchable or sending for his Compiled Service Record.
