In Response To: Re: Guerilla in KY: Wigginton? ()

I looked up Wigginton in Collins' History of Kentucky and found two references:

1/20/1865
Fight at West Point, Hardin county, between the citizens and guerrillas under Ben Wigginton, W. was badly wounded.

3/15/1865
Skirmish at Pitt's Point, Bullitt county, between the citizens and guerrillas under two brothers named Wigginton; one of whom was killed and his party dispersed.

These two stories seem to support your memories of county Home Guard putting the hurt to the Wigginton brothers.
