I am looking for information on the Jayne family from Flat Gap,KY, and their activities during TWBTS. At various times, Henry and Daniel J.V.(the J.V. stands for Jerimiah Vanlandingham)Jayne were in the 5th Ky Inf. before it got absorbed into the Orphan brigade. Along with brother, William, they all served in Fields Partisan Rangers. Henry and Daniel J.V. were also in the 7th Confederate Cavalry Battalion, while it appears brother William was leading his own guerilla group. Anyone who has any information on these gentlemen would be greatly appreciated. After the war, they started the Enterprise Academy, around Paintsville, for the training of teachers in Eastern Kentucky. Thanks.
