Re: 8th Kentucky INfantry, CSA

I'm doing a fun-study on the 3rd, 7th, 8th, and 12th KY CSA, as my GGrandfather was in both the 3rd and 12th. I have comprehensive histories on the initial organizational history of all but the 8th. The 8th was sent from the camp at Bowling Green, to Fort Donalson, in Feb 1862, where they were surrendered and sent to Yank prisons for about a year before being released in prisoner exchanges, and returned to the KY Brigade about a year later at Jackson Miss. And I have their history from there until, as part of the 8th and 12th Consolidated Regiment, they surrendered around Athens AL, in April 1865. What I'm looking for is where and when they were first organized and from what counties they came. I suspect they were organized at Camp Boone, between Trenton and Clarksville, sometime about Sep 1861, but I don't know for sure. Thanks.
