Re: Grills Family

Lenora,

We have talked in the past. Hiram's wife Sarah Sally Jones had an illegitmate daughter BEFORE wedding Hiram. Her name was Rachel Jones. A half sister to all of Hiram's children that you list. She is not listed in the household in any census with Hiram's and Sarah's children. I think she may have been bound out to another family and never reunited with her mother. Sarah's daughter Rachek is listd as living with Sarah and Sarah's brother and mother and some others in the 1850 census. Rachel was born 1847. She was five years old when Sarah finally married Hiram. Rachel is not Hiram's child. We think we know the actual father. Sarah's sister-in-law was Charlotte Hensley (married to Sarah's brother Wiley), we think it was some of her family as our family bible has Rachel down as a Hensley, though completely illegitimate. And the Hensley brothers lived next door.

I'm just writing this to let you know we are partly blood related...adn I am trying to find where Rachel was bound out to or went to all the days that Sarah was with Hiram. OR was she perhaps in the household?? Any help?

My Rachel shows up after 1850 at her wedding it 1867 to James T. Wynn.

I am 100% certain of all of this except for the notion of Rachel being bound out... but other Jones children were bound out.
