I am the great,great,great granddaughter of "Devil John Wright". My grandmother Bessie Mae Burton was Alice June Wright Houston's daughter. Alice was a wonderful great-grandmother and lived with us until her death Oct.31,1970. Alice would sit and tell us stories about her father and his many trials and tribulations as a "lawman" as she put it. I was born in Hazard,Ky. in 1950. John's son "Chid" also was a great story teller. I just happened upon this site as I was looking for more information about my great 3x grandfather to pass on to my children. Kathryn Owens
