A Goggle search "10th Kentucky Cavalry," will lead you to this find, among others:

THE 10TH KENTUCKY CAVALRY, C.S.A. - THE YANKEE CHASERS, by John B. Wells III and Jim Prichard, Gateway Press, 1996.

Note that there were two Confederate 10th Kentuckys "The Yankee Chasers" was led by May, Trimble, & Diamond. The other unit being led by Johnson.

An excellent read is that of "The Headquarters Diary of Edward O. Guerrant, Bluegrass Confederate,' edited by William C. Davis and Meredith L. Swentor, LSU Press, 1999. This 700 page tome makes frequent reference to the three leaders of the regiment.

For instance: Tuesday, 12h, April 1864 "Rode John Morgan over to Col. Trimble's Camp this evening, Maj. Geo. Diamond in command of the Regt. Just recovered from the small pox. Boys all in their little kennels, like a village of Prairie dogs. Don't seem to mind the rain."

Battle of Saltville, Sunday, 2d Oct. 1864 "At this critical juncture the brave young Col. Trimbel fell dead, pierced thro' the head by a ball which struck him just below the star--*--he wore on his hat. At nearly the same time Maj. Lum Cox was shot from his horse at the corner of the graveyard, & was carried from the field dangerously wounded, and Lt Ja's. Honaker of the same Regiment was wounded, and Lt. James Crutchfield of 10th Ky M. Rifles was killed (Son of Maj. Crutchfield, Ch'f Qr.Mr.) This comprised our loss in officers. The 10h Ky Cav lost some 8 or 10 men."
