Re: Big Sandy Civil War Round Table

Thanks Randall,

I formerly belonged to the 100+ strong Seattle CW Round Table.

We met at the Yankee Dinner in Ballard, charging a fee somewhat in excess of the dinner/tip/restaurant charges. With our surplus, we were able to import nationally known authors on a regular basis. We opened the doors with an Open Bar an hour in advance, thus, helping the restaurant, big time!

At the time, I had to drive some 55 miles and take the ferry across Puget Sound to attend. Today, my nearest Round Table is in Sacramento, 125 miles and 2+ hours each way. I've attended two meetings in the last 7 years and made one presentation there. However, not my cup of tea, especially over the 8000 ft. Donner Pass in the winter!

Another fund gathering method was for participants to donate CW related books for raffle at each meeting.

Best wishes in your Table.

George Martin
