Greetings,

I found some information that my Great-Great Grandfather Robert E Owen was a private in Company A (Captain Darwin Bell), 1st (Helm's) Regiment Kentucky Cavalry, Confederate States Army. He enlisted on June 25, 1861, at Williams Springs, Tennessee. The record also shows that he was captured in Christian County, Kentucky (where my family is from) and taken as a pow. All the information from the War Dept said is that he was "sent to Vicksburg via Cairo Jun. 14 1863. I am trying to find more information on his regiment, and also how I could find out more about him being taken prisoner. Would you have any idea as to how I could obtain this information? I would appreciate any information you could give me, as most of my family members that would know have passed on.

Thanks for your time.

Chris Owen
