I just came across your response accidentally today (I'm not an expert on the computer). Anyway, I went to Austin (Tx) for my high school reunion just about a year ago. Albert Sidney IS buried there, in the Texas State Cemetary. NOW I'm impressed -- his tomb has a TALL white iron fence around it, with a coffin-sized box on the top of which is a marble sculpture of the top half of him. Sculpture was done by Elisabet Ney, a well-known scupltress there and then. From the bits I've read about him, there was much debate as to just where he should be buried. But I guess he'd done much for Texas in their various wars. I really should read that book!
Thanks for the info about Paducah -- that must be where he was from?? I live in Connecticut; not likely to get to Kentucky, but "you never know"!!
Sincerely, Barbara
