Has anyone heard of a unit called Terrill's Guards and Scouts? It seems that Gen. William R. Terrill formed a company of civilians and soldiers for his brigade, to scout and spy. The company was engaged early on the morning of Oct. 8, 1862, and after Terrill's death, was disbanded.
