In the 1930 Federal Census record of Lee City, Wolfe County, Kentucky, 2 April 1930 it showed
Haddix, Andy Head m/w 55 Farmer 1st married age 39
Haddix , Belle wife f/w 35 1st married age 19
And if this is Belle Taulbee, then guess who lives right next door........
Taulbee, J. Cornelis w/m 67 Farmer
Taulbee, Margarette w/f 63 wife
and
Taulbee, J. Willard w/m 27 Farmer
Taulbee, Vernie w/f 22 wife
Taulbee, Pearlie w/f 4 yrs 8 months daughter
Now, would that be Belle's Father and mother --- and brother and sister-in-law and niece?
The 1880 Federal Census lists 188 Taulbee's, the first 100 live in either Jackson and/or Frozen, Breathitt, Kentucky, or Bush Creek or Johnson Fork. Mary Belle Taulbee, age 3, is listed as the daughter of Samuel E.[Elsberry] Taulbee, age 34, and his wife Emley [Emily Emma McQuinn] Taulbee [b. Mar 1850, daguhter of Charles B. McQuinn b. abt 1820 and his wife, Esther b. abt 1826 and in 1850 were living in District 1, Breathitt, Ky].
I'm wandering again and still not finding military service.
