Re: Civil war doctor--Harvey Green Johnston

Re; Harvey Green Johnston. What a very nice piece. I am the son of Col. Harvey Green Johnston III (World War II and Korea) and am currently working on a geneology of the Johnston and Duke families. I, my brother (Harvey G. Johnston IV) and my uncle Fowler W. Johnston are the heirs that donated the Johnston home fot the museum complex. After the death of Marjorie, my wife and I were the last Johnstons to spend the night in the Home back in 1985. On my geneology quest, I have taken the Johnstons all the way back to before the Norman invasion. Much to my amazement, I discovered that the original Johnston actually came from France to Scotland with the name of Jeanville (Literally a frechified form of Johnston). It gets a little more interesting in that the Normandy region of France was itself taken over by the Norsemen of Scandinavia with the Johnstons being descended from Viking Royalty. There are also direct lineages going to the Capetian, Carolingian and Merovingian dynasties.

Back to Harvey.....Unfortunately, my father passed away in 1972 when I was only 17 and did not have the opportunity to hear all the great stories. I am having a very hard time getting any information on my dad. Any ideas?
