Re: co.c 5th kentucky mntd. infantry

Complments,
John's brother joined the 5th KY INF. Union. Mustered in Oct. 61. Cincinnati (SP), neutrality thing, He deserted after Perryville, and never heard from again as far as family things or such. He still owed $ 18.04 for Blankets and supply's according to his official Army Records.
His Father who lived in between Springfield and Perryville searched for his body after the battle, and did not find such.
My ancestors name on one side was "Mayes" as in Mayes/Hayes Rd. on the north side of the field of Battle, and on the other side (maternal) was Begley as in "Begley " creek on the south side of the field.
If you go to the Church on the hill between (N/S) Springfield and Perryvillle on RTE.150 between the two you will see nothing but horse farms and
Beglely's and Mayes buried, back to 1823 ad.
