Hi, Mike... The paper did not put any thing more about the Flat Gap Guards or Sid Cook's groups. Just the two articles. I am so glad I found my Andrew Osborn's death record. It was listed in John D. Preston's book as a note about the two Confederates killed in The Raid On Paintsville led by Ezekiel Clay. I looked in the back to see what the note was and found Andrew and his friend James Patterson as the two who were killed. Anthony Hawkins (He is a walking textbook of info- and so very helpful and free with his time ) also confirmed this as he found it mentioned in James Harvey Long's Confederate Pension Application. It seems Long had talked of their deaths. I tried getting a copy of his pension application from University of Virginia but the process kept running me in a circle.
