Dear Sir,

I would be interested in as much of the roster of the 47th Kentucky that you could possibly provide me with. I had an uncle from Jackson Co.,KY whose gravestone names him as having been in the 47th KY. His name was Harrison Slone, his father, I believe, was the Rev.Hardin Slone, originally from Old Virginia. His brother, Hardin Slone, my Great.g.g Grandfather, was in the 13th KY Cav, CSA. I'd really appreciate any help you could give me with this. Thank you very much, Sir.

Sincerely,

Michael J.Gabbard

PS-If it interests you at all, I am in the editing phase of a book about the Confederate victory at the Battle of Richmond, fought in Madison County on 30 AUG 1862,titled "Blood on the Bluegrass:The Battle of Richmond, KY",. In the course of years upon years of exhaustive research, I have a wealth of sources on virtually every aspect of the fight, the units engaged, and the casualties. Unless you've read my friend Anthony Hawkins' work on the subject, "Of Savage Fury", I guarantee you have never read the true figures, either for casualties or troops engaged. All previous statistics are far too low. Any sources you wish to utilize are yours for the asking, as well as anything else I can help you with.
