John Peck, 8th USCT
Searching for letters, journals, and other personal documents referencing the life and military service of John Peck, who served as a sergeant in Company E of the Eighth U.S. Colored Infantry. According to his military service record, he was born in Venango, Pennsylvania, and joined the Eighth in August 1863. He was a free man and worked as a barber before his enlistment. He survived the war and filed for a pension as a resident of Kentucky in 1892. Any and all help appreciated.
