Calloway County is right on the border with Tennessee. Don't know if he had relocated south to Lincoln County, Tenn.

Samuel Story, age 19*, enlisted in Company K, 1st (Turney's) Tennessee Infantry on April 29, 1861 in Lincoln County, Tennessee by Captain Davis for a period of 12 months, recorded on May 8, 1861 as "Deserted," no further records

M268: Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Tennessee

On April 28, the regiment was assembled at Winchester, bivouacking on the grounds of Mary Sharp College; on May 1, it departed by rail for the Virginia theater where on May 8, 1861, it was mustered into the service of the Confederate States at Lynchburg, Virginia

* Although the age doesn't match up with your records, he could have lied about his age to enlist

This may be him. It is not unusual for transcriptional errors in initials
