THe 15th Ky Federal had 2 Irish companies from Louisville. THere were more Irish COmpanies Louisville, but I forget the units.According to the awesome book Irish Americans in Confederate armies, Co. H 9th Ky. CSA is mostly an Irish American unit that used to be a pre war militia. Let's say Quirk's scouts were mostly Irish from Lexington. As the top 2 guys were Irish in Tommy Quirk and TOm Murphy, but they weren't mostly Irish. THat Hopewell mueum in Paris has severeal pictures of Irish in that city that were Confederates.
Another mystery that needs to be solved is whether Co. K 5th Confederate was an Irish CO. from Paducah. I only say this because they were lumped in with the Irish of Memphis.
I hoped this helped a little Keith.
Take care!!
