I doubt it. Perhaps the Union POW records incorrectlng recorded his unit affiliation. The last card in his file re the Newton, NC affair with the 10th Michigan records him as a Private in Co. E, 4th Kentucky Cavalry. However, I do not find a Charles Williams in that company/regiment.
