I have information that Marshall County KY furnished confederate troops in two companies. The first by Alfred Johnston who became its captain and the second by Crittenden Edwards. These two companies were attached to the Third Kentucky Infantry and served with General Albert Sidney Johnston;s army in the battle of Shiloh. They continued through the war. Joseph P. Staton's brother Felix Staton became a captain when R.F. Stone of Benton was killed at Shiloh. I can't find his brother Joseph listed and I think it was that he was a Cavalry Officer. The father of these men is Joseph L. Staton and his father is Charles Dameron Staton. Any information on the 3rd KY would be of help though.
