Searching for letters, journals, and other personal documents referencing the life and military service of Lewis Chapman, who served as a private in Company F of the 108th U.S. Colored Infantry. A resident of Louisville, Kentucky, he survived the war and returned to Louisville. He died in 1895 and is buried in Cave Hill Cemetery (Section B, Lot 8, Part, Range 11, Grave 4018-A).
