Company B of the Third Kentucky Infantry, CSa, was primarily from Ballard County, KY.

Here is what I have on your guy plus the information I gathered from the census:

Woodward, William H.: Pvt.; age 23, enlisted 7/5/61 at Camp Boone, TN; died at Hospital at Brandon, MS 5/7/63.
Born circa 1838 in KY; died May 7, 1863 at Hospital at Brandon, MS; 1860 Ball. Co., KY, Census: bp. KY, age 22, farm laborer.
