13th Kentucky Cavalry, C.S.A. "Caudill's Army" is a well researched and documented work of love and respect for Colonel Ben E. Caudill and the men of his Confederate Cavalry. Every Civil War book has its numerous accounts of battles fought, battles won or lost, skirmishes, close calls captures, escapes and human atrocities. This book is no exception, for of such is the undeniable nature of war. What sets this civil war book apart from most others is the roster of the 1049 men to whom this record of Kentucky history is dedicated. Not just a list of names, it is a tribute to each of these brave men, many who were captured and suffered much (even starvation, torture and death) at the hands of their captors. This book is a well written easy read and as a bonus contains pictures of many of the men of the 13th Kentucky Cavalry, C.S.A., as well as a great deal of genealogical information. This book is definitely one that every civil war enthusiast or researcher will want to read.
