The rolls of the 4th Kentucky Cavalry CSA have one Mary Ann Wright, listed as 1st Sgt. of Co. F, captured in TN in 1864 and sent to Camp Chase, where she spent the rest of the war (paroled in May 1865). The Federal prisoner records recorded her as a female.

Does anyone have any other info on Mary Ann Wright? What was her background? How did she end up officially serving as a woman in the CS army? What did she do after the war?
