The Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board - Archive

Welcome!

For those of you who have asked for this website, here is the "NEW" Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board.

I will be inviting a select group initially to visit and evaluate the site. Over the next few days, I will be inviting by email hundreds of posters to other WBTS message boards and discussion groups, website owners, educators, writers, amateur and professional historians, genealogists and others to visit and participate in the discussion.

Some of you may know that I have a particular love for the state of Louisiana as I began my working career in this beautiful state and my daughter, Adele, was born in Baton Rouge. I've spent endless hours and thousands of miles visiting the historic sites of Louisiana, including the hundreds of plantation homes, forts and battlefields.

I am not an "authority" on the CW in Louisiana; however, I have a significant knowledge of the War in Acadiana, The Great Overland Texas Expedition and the Red River Campaign.

It is my hope that the "experts" whom I hope will frequent this message board will provide the answers to genealogical and historical questions of family genealogists and others to increase the scholarship and understanding of the pivotal role of Louisiana in the Civil War.

Enjoy the board and I look forward to your comments and suggestions.
