I am interested in Scott’s Brigade AoT that included the 12th Louisiana - specifically the 57th Ala that contained my direct ancestor (William R Birge aka Burge). There is little on line about the 57th and was hoping you might have information that would shed light on the 57th or the Brigade in general. One thing I have been interested in lately would be Quartermaster reports or general conditions of the men and how they were reacting to what was going on. The AoT is such a tragic story and that of the 57th as well. I wonder how the veteran men of the 12th viewed such latecomers to the war (and I would imagine reluctant participants as well).

I have seen on your web site that you are authoring a book on the 12th, I would be interested in knowing when it is published.
