I have been slowly scanning the pages of Booth's Louisiana Rosters, for the names of all personnel who were in, or transferred into the Confederate States Navy, and during the course of this search, I have noted a vast number of personnel, in both the Army and Navy, who were born in foreign lands. These include Bavarians, Prussians, French, Spanish, Mexicans, and the list goes on and on.
Does anyone know if Louisiana could have been the state with the highest proportion of foreign born Confederate personnel, as this seems to be the case on scanning the Booth roster?
