Off the top of my head, I seem to recall having read something in the diary of Lieut. Arthur Hyatt of the same battalion that Lieut. Bonner was detached on some kind of court martial or legal business in Alexandria. Again, I seem to recall that he became ill and either died or committed suicide. If you have access to Napier Bartlett's "Military Record of Louisiana," look in it for a transcription of Hyatt's diary.
