Post-war census?

Does anyone know if there was a census taken in Louisiana shortly after the War? I'm not referring to the 1870 federal census. I know that in Alabama and Mississippi, there was a census taken that even gave the status of former soldiers such as KIA or disabled. Since Louisiana was occupied by federal forces after the War thru 1877, no doubt many people refused to take part. "Reconstruction" was a horrible time for our ancestors.
