Thank you for the information. The name I have is Henri Audouin (misspelled "Audion"). Perhaps that is why there is no record of him in the pension files. All I know is that someone on my dad's side of the family was in the Civil War in an artillery unit. My dad says it was the Washington Artillery from New Orleans. However, in doing some research on that unit, I find it doubtful, since they were high class society rich folks and my family members were all dirt poor!
