Booth's book shows a J. P. Stanley (probably L. P.) as a Private in Company K, 3rd (Harrison's) Louisiana Cavalry Regiment. This was a company nicknamed the Prairie Rangers and raised in the Chicot area (St. Landry Parish). He was paroled at the end of the war on June 10, 1865. You might check with the Louisiana State Archives to see if he or his widow applied for a Confederate pension.
