Most of the studies seem to concentrate on Native Americans within the armies of both the Union and Confederacy. However, my research is concentrated mainly on the naval aspect, and I have found mention of Native Americans within this service, both in the Union and Confederate Navies. I think I have also mentioned the services of a couple of Native American scouts for the Confederate Navy, which is mentioned in the Naval Official Records, and which is mentioned either at that site of mine, or elsewhere. It is a pity that the records of the Confederate Navy are very sparse, otherwise I am certain there would be more records of these personnel in the CSN. If anyone else know of others in the CSN or the USN please contact me.
